Web Developer

At 51North, we're looking for a talented web developer to help turn bold ideas into exceptional built digital experiences. You build solid backend solutions that support our frontend components and mobile applications, while also developing frontend solutions for both web and mobile platforms.

You enjoy building solid technical solutions to meet the most demanding client constraints.

You're hands-on in building proof of concept prototypes and work closely with our senior developers, as well as our designers, to bring ideas to life.

About you

• In-depth knowledge of PHP and database solutions like MySQL.

• Experience with modern PHP frameworks like Laravel, Yii & Symphony.

• Understanding of fundamental backend concepts like object oriented programming, input validation and APIs.

• Experience with modern frontend (meta-)frameworks like Nuxt, Next.js or Angular.

• Working experience with HTML, JS, CSS.

• You know your way around the command line interface.

• The drive to deliver high quality code.

• Analytical mind and user-centric approach.

• Strong oral and written Dutch and English communication skills.

We’d be extra excited if you bring:

• Experience with custom module / plugin development for CraftCMS.

• Some experience in Mobile Application development with React Native.

• Knowledge of module bundling with tools like Vite and Webpack.

• You know how application hosting works (DevOps). You're excited of provisioning a VPS with a LEMP stack or setup a scaleable setup in AWS or DigitalOcean.

• Experience with testing and debugging across a variety of popular browsers and devices.

• You like to write unit tests.

• Some experience with WCAG standard implementations.

This role is based in our office in Sittard (NL), and we ask that you're able to join us on-site at least two days a week.
To work well with the team and our clients, you’ll also need to speak Dutch or already be actively learning it.
